Summer Camp 2010

Paper & Palette:

Exploring your writer and artist self

Do you love to write?
Do you love to make art?
Come join us this summer and explore your writer and artist self!
We'll spend half of each day with paper and pencil, immersing ourselves in words. The other half of the day we'll work with pastels, charcoals, watercolors (and more!), immersing ourselves in visual art. Our adventure will be exploring who we are through words and images.

THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND Summer Day Camp for children ages 5 to 15 blends the exciting science and nature studies developed by Sarah Shaffer, with art, music, hiking, swimming, and outdoor games. Our goal is for every child to have a summer filled with outrageous fun in a beautiful, wild, natural setting. We say, "No child left indoors!"

Each week your child will work on two hands-on projects per day related to our weekly themes, which include Catapults and Castles: Medieval Science, Crazy Color Contraptions, Terrific Transformers, and Rockin' Robots.  Camp runs June 16 to August 29 at Roberts Regional Park in Oakland and Tilden Park in Berkeley , and July 7 to August 15 at Little Hills Ranch in San Ramon.

Tree Frog Treks

Tree Frog Treks offers programs for children ages 4 & up throughout the Bay Area.  At every Tree Frog Treks event, your kids will meet live animals, create science and art projects, and explore the great outdoors.  We offer science camps, school programming, birthday adventure treks, and enriching childcare (every Saturday Night) or you could even customize your own trek!  Please contact our office at 415-876-3764 or visit our website for more information.

“Nature…Art…Freedom”

Come enjoy NATURE while exploring our neighboring Wildcat Regional Park with Sara Fries, a credentialed teacher with over 20 years experience. Create inspired ART, offered by Kent Fries, an artist with an MFA from UC Davis. Experience the FREEDOM of a world without imposed agendas, and see what marvelous things happen.  Our past summer campers have found themselves…throwing pots on the wheel, building carpentry projects, playing music, riding bikes, sewing, cooking, walking the slack line, and playing with our bunnies.  Most importantly, our campers have made new friends in a place where socializing feels easy and without pressure.
