Activity Groups The Oakland-Piedmont branch of AAUW has many exciting interest groups: Cards, Puzzles & Games Join other branch members and friends for a couple hours of fun and games ... could be cards one time, a puzzle another, or a good game of scrabble! See VOICE for dates and times. Evening Books Members review books and meet in various homes. Second Thursdays each month (7:30-9:30). List is subject to modification,please check VOICE for updates. Fiberistas This unstructured group offers an opportunity meet in a quiet, well lit home, for congenial conversation, friendlly fiber arts work on knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, crewel, cross-stitch and the like, for help and advice. Fourth Tuesdays, 6:30-9:00 p.m. Hiking This new group is planning afternoon or weekend day hikes, ranging from 2 to 4 miles, with stamina levels ranging from easy to moderate, throughout the Alameda/Oakland/Piedmont area. International Foods Gourmet potluck - Guests welcome! One Friday evening per month get together for a potluck of cuisine from another country. Lunch Bunch Members choose and explore ethnic, new and interesting East Bay eateries. No host lunch with friendly discussion of contemporary topics. First Fridays each month. Morning Books Monthly reviews by participating members, followed by group discussion with coffee. First Thursdays (10:00 a.m.) each month. Serendipity ~ "A gift for finding good things accidentally" Other groups may be added throughout the year if there is sufficient member interest.
